Yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot (Amazona barbadensis rothchildi) is a native wild bird in The northern Venezuela and Bonaire (Caribbean Netherlands). Their population is declining due to poaching for the cage bird trade and habitat loss. I used to visit Bonaire every year for scuba diving, and it was always nice to see them on the way to a dive spot. When I took this photo, there were close to 20 Yellow-shouldered Amazon parrots hanging out on the cactuses, some of them were eating cactus fruits. #birdslife
